LIVE LAUNCH - Work to Travel Website

Hello and welcome! My name is Sandy Frew and I am the founder of Work to Travel which is a website that has been designed to provide employers with unique advertising opportunities to reach prospective job seekers.

The website for Work to Travel will officially launch on the 20th July 2009 for employers to advertise jobs and on the 27th July 2009 for job seekers to start applying.

Many employers in primary industries, outback and rural Australia struggle to operate efficiently due to a shortage in labour. Over the years many of them have become accustomed to employing backpackers travelling in Australia with working visas and have found them to be a great solution in meeting their needs during their busy seasons.

The same applies to businesses that often have a high turnover of staff like factories, cleaning services and hospitality industries.

I recognised this vital link in 2006 when I was employed in recruitment for backpackers and have always been aware of the importance of the backpacker employment industry. As a teenager in the 80’s my parents owned an accommodation business which we also lived in and so I virtually grew up in the industry. As an adult I owned my own accommodation business in the 90’s and since that time have often managed backpackers hostels that my parents have owned over the years.

As you can see I have a strong connection and understanding of the backpacker employment industry and have spent years researching and talking with employers and backpackers to come up with this innovative website which is a valuable resource for both employers and backpackers/job seekers.

… and so Work to Travel was born…

Work to Travel aims to fill the needs of employers by offering them the opportunity to advertise their positions online where backpackers all over Australia can view and apply direct with them.

This unique website gives the employer full control to choose the right person they need to suit their requirements. It also gives the backpackers the opportunity to plan their working holiday and employment destination before booking their journey.

I value your opinions and would love you to leave comments on anything you would like to see on the website in the future.
